Sad times

I had to have my last pet put down and it was a miserable situation. She, a twenty year old siamese kitty, was very ill and her quality of life issues were pronounced. I took her to the vet and he tried to give her the shot to end her live but she was too dehydrated to be able to find the vein. He anesthetized her and then he stuck a needle in her heart and administered the medication she was gone in less than a minute. Twenty years of love and companionship gone. At least I got to say good-bye and hold her before she went. SOB 😦

I am heartbroken she was a very loving kitty; quite the pal she slept with me almost every night until she got too sick. She followed me around like a dog wanting to be close to me and often talking her kitty talk. I loved hearing her little bell as she moved about from room to room. Full of curiosity and affection she is missed terribly by this old lady.

  1. I’m so sorry about your pets. I’m very attached to my 3 dogs & I know losing any of them would break my heart. They really aren’t my “pets”, they are my family. I hope you’re feeling a little better now.

  2. Thank you for your comment.
I am feeling better, I still miss my Pia Kitty and my yellow lab Shelby they were a big part of my life and now there is a big hole were they used to be. I still look for them at times as though they were still here. Someday I may get another pet, but it will be a while before I’m ready to do that.
I wish you well with your fur pals they are a great comfort in a harsh world.

  3. My deepest condolences on the loss of your darling kitty. I wrote this piece after the sudden death (cardiomyopathy) of my lovely little Lily, an adorably affectionate dilute calico: http://myheartsisters.org/2011/05/29/when-a-pet-dies/ It took me forever to stop looking down at the floor for her where she’d always be waiting whenever I unlocked the front door – as if she spent my whole time away sitting right there at the door in anticipation of my return.

    • I am sorry you lost your darling kitty, amazing how such a little bit of fur can attach its self so our hearts. I still miss my kitty and still expect to see her in the usual places. I love cats and their feline ways, when a cat decides they like you it is an honest choice if they want to they can take care of themselves and some do. I have been lucky to have had several feline companions in my life and they improved my life by sharing theirs with me.
